Chapter 56: A Pleasant Journey

t disabled again. With her mid-term report card in hand, Wu Lianyi smiled and took credit to Wan Guifen. Wan Guifen's face showed a momentary awkwardness before she then laughed and said:"This time, Li..."This"

Wàn Guìfēn hesitated a little, she wanted to go with her son and take care of his daily life.

"Mom, I've discussed this with my older sister. The main issue is that the training camp in the capital lasts for forty days. Who among you and Dad could take such a long leave Even if someone could, what about the impact on your year-end performance evaluations and bonuses"

Wu Junyi's words hit the nail on the head for both of them. As ordinary workers, they were truly restricted by this.

"Besides, I started late. This time passing the exam also has a bit of luck involved. With my sister accompanying me, I feel more confident. If I don't understand something, she can help me further."

Wu Junyi, according to his elder sister's instructions, began to persuade his parents.

"Ripples is just a child herself, how could she take care of you"

Wàn Guìfēn is still a little reluctant.

"Mom, I have an ID card now, I'm not a child anymore."

Wu Lianyi immediately defended herself.

"Let's discuss this with your dad."

Wan Guifen waved her hand and said.

Wu Lianyi glanced at Wu Junyi. The latter jumped and immediately went to the kitchen, clinging to Wan Guifen and acting cute, saying that he wanted his sister to accompany him.

When summer vacation arrived, things were mostly settled. Under Wu Junyi's persistent persuasion and considering that both husband and wife couldn't take a long vacation, Wu Lianyi, the elder sister with an ID card, became Wu Junyi's temporary guardian.

Wu Lianyi was wearing a set of sportswear, with a small bag slung across her shoulder. All the greetings were borne by Wu Junyi himself, but he didn't dare to have any complaints.

The Ministry of Education is still very responsible, gathering all the children participating in the summer camp and taking them to the train station by bus. Then they take a train to the capital summer camp base.

An entire train car was almost filled with children going to summer camp. Along the way, a few ill-intentioned people watched the children in the car, their eyes gleaming with malice. Thankfully, the parents were no pushovers and kept a close eye on them. Wu Junyi and Wu Lianyi happened to fall within these people's line of sight.

Wu Lianyi frowned, then instructed Wu Jinyi directly:

"I'm going to the dining car to buy you some good food. Don't run around and stay here. If anyone comes looking for you, tell them I had an accident. And don't go with them, just wait for me to come back."

Wu Junyi obediently nodded. He knew very well that the person who could cause trouble for his elder sister hadn't even been born yet! His elder sister's strength was something he experienced firsthand, and it was a story filled with blood and tears.

Wu Lianyi patted her younger brother's head like she was petting a puppy, greeted the other parents sitting with them, and then stood up and left that car, heading towards the dining car.

Before she even reached the food cart, a plain-looking middle-aged woman ran up to her and said to Wu Lianyi:

"Little girl, are you a student from the XX carriage"

"Yes! What's wrong"

Wu Lianyi nodded and said.

"There was a child on your train car who had a stomachache, said that his sister came to buy him food, I don't know if it was you"

"I came here with my younger brother, he was fine just a moment ago, how did something happen as soon as I left What did the teacher do"

Wu Lianyi asked anxiously.

"Don't worry, the teacher seems to be looking for a train attendant. They want to see if there's a doctor on board. I happened to be passing by, so they asked me to catch up and ask."

The woman gave me a look that said, "I'm just passing by and doing you a favor."

"Thank you, sister. I'll go back now."

"Little girl, I'm in a sleeper car. The person across from me is a doctor who works at the Capital Hospital. Would you like me to take you to meet him"

The woman kindly said.

When Wu Lianyi heard this, her eyes flashed, and she immediately said:

"Big sister, you're a good person. Could you please ask him to come over I'm in a hurry to see my younger brother."

The woman said awkwardly:

"Before, my child at home slept in the lower bunk, he was very unhappy. I just told him a couple of things because he kept complaining, but I'm afraid if I said something else people wouldn't listen to me."

Wu Lianyi's eyes narrowed slightly, then she looked out the car window. She immediately reacted, realizing that the next stop was just ahead. They were already on the edge of the city, so that's why these people made their move.

"Okay! I'll go with you, but I still feel better if the doctor takes a look."

"Alright, just in front, in the sleeping car compartment. It won't take long."

The woman immediately led the way to the front, and after passing through two sections of carriages, they arrived at the soft sleeper carriage. Wu Lianyi became even more certain that this was a gang operation because soft sleepers had doors. Once the door was closed, no one outside knew what was happening inside.

After the door was opened, the woman pointed to a clean-looking man lying down below and said:

"This person seems to be a doctor. You can ask him."

Wu Lianyi glanced over and found a young man leaning against the lower bunk. There was a little boy sleeping soundly on the upper bunk, looking only two or three years old. He must be the child the middle-aged woman mentioned. The bunks opposite them were empty.

The man who was called out raised his head. When he saw the middle-aged woman, he frowned. Then, when he looked at Wu Lianyi, his face improved slightly and he said directly:

"I'm just an intern. Is there something"

"Oh, my brother suddenly has a stomachache and wants you to come take a look."

"Did you eat something bad"

The man got up while talking, and pulled a small medical kit out from under the bed.

After he got on the train, he drank some water and hadn't eaten yet.

Before Wu Lian Yi could finish her words, she saw the man suddenly turn around and cover her mouth with a white cloth. The woman who was previously there directly hugged her from behind, binding her hands to make it easier for the man to act. The soft bed door had already been closed when she entered.

Everything happened very quickly, and the two looked like veterans, cooperating seamlessly. They didn't give her any time to react. If Wu Lianyi were really a seventeen-year-old girl, she would probably have been scared out of her wits. Luckily for them, they had met Lianyi's ancestor.

Wu Lianyi didn't struggle, instead she raised her foot and stomped down hard, with enough force to crush the toes of the middle-aged woman behind her. "Ah!" a scream escaped the woman's lips, and instinctively, the arms that bound her loosened.

Facing the gauze about to be placed over her mouth, Wu Lianyi didn't blink, and directly kicked out a heartwarming kick with her leg.

The man seemed unprepared for Wu Lianyi's resistance. He was kicked right in the face, flew backward and his head directly hit the edge of the upper bunk bed with a "dong" sound, instantly fainting.

That voice sounded so painful that Wu Lianyi could feel it herself. The man fainted, while Wu Lianyi turned her head and gave the plain-faced middle-aged woman a bloodthirsty smile, which startled the latter, making her freeze before being knocked unconscious by a blow to the back of the neck.

Having dealt with the two men, Wu Lianyi finally raised her head to look at the upper bunk. The boy sleeping soundly showed no signs of waking up. Despite the commotion, he remained undisturbed. She stepped forward, lifted the blanket, and gently patted the young boy's face, but he still didn't stir. He must have been drugged.se, Lian Yi tried to wrap her spirit threads around those black spots, attempting to pull them out. Unfortunately, the spots remained motionless, and even began to pollute Lian Yi's spirit with her sp...
