How to lay on the sea bed without floating up?

I was wondering about a skill i haven’t yet achieved yet in spearfishing. supposingly you can lay on the sea bed with out your legs floating up and eventually the rest of your body?

What happens after the shot?

Question:

I am new to spear fishing and had a quick question on what happens after the shot. With a line gun in low vis what do you suggest to do if your fish were to Tie up in kelp and it was to deep to surface with your gun but you need a breath?

Spearfishing Guantanamo Bay?

Question:

I am leaving for Guantanamo Bay for military. I have read up on my options for liberty activities and it looks like diving is a major deal out there Read that the dive shops rent out guns, so some people have hunted in those waters. Has anyone been out there before? Looking for some good stories to get psyched… I have 2 years out there. I Have a Riffe 61” island.

Getting Started?

Question:

New to this great sport, I live in Alaska and will try some next summer once I get geared up for it.  Last year went to the Big Island and had a great time with a pole spear and hawaiian sling I borrowed from a friend over there, plan on going back in March and adding a gun to my arsenal.  Looking forward to learning all I can from everyone here.  Any suggestions off hand?

AB Biller Padauk vs Mahogany?

Question:

I’m on the hunt for a spear gun.  I’m thinking about getting an AB Biller 60”, but I’m not sure about the length or the wood.  Is padauk better than mahogany? I’m assuming teak is the best?
